Sean Hogan, Head Coach

Michigan native Sean Hogan comes to Cody, Wyoming’s Yellowstone Quake Junior A
Hockey team with a wealth of experience. The head coach of Oakland University
for five years, Hogan led the Grizzlies to two ACHA National Championships, one
at the Division II level (2006) and another at Division I (2007). During
Hogan’s two-year tenure as assistant coach of the Grizzlies, OU captured the
ACHA Division II National Championship (2004).
He was also the Hockey Director for the Rochester Hockey Club, the largest
hockey association in Michigan. Prior to coaching, Sean played NCAA varsity
hockey at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY and was Rookie of the Year during
the 1996-97 season. Hogan completed his degree in Public Policy and Public
Administration at Michigan State University.
A former Golden Gloves boxer, Hogan is from Royal Oak, Michigan. He brings the
passion, dedication and extensive knowledge of the game needed to build a
successful organization.

Jordan McTaggart
Assistant Coach
Jordan McTaggart was born in Bellevue, Washington in 1987. He was introduced to
hockey almost at birth as his father played professionally. Jordan played his
entire minor hockey action in Seattle where he was awarded the John McDonald
award given to one player each year who exemplifies dedication to the game of
hockey. He joined the NORPAC League as a player in 2006, and showed early on
that he was a student of the game. Jordan developed coaching skills while
working at Hockey Educational Systems, a company that provides instruction and
skill development for youth and adult players and received his first coaching
opportunity while playing for and assisting with Yellowstone Quake Hockey.
Jordan’s personal coaching philosophy surrounds a belief that character is the
most important trait that a player can have and a coach’s responsibility is to
help him develop it into something he and his teammates can count on.

Ryan Theros
Assistant Coach
Ryan hails from Northern Minnesota where he grew up on the frozen rinks and
ponds since the age of three. In high school Ryan Lettered in varsity as a
ninth grader. After High School he went on to play Junior A hockey for the Iron
Range Yellowjackets in the MJHL and an affiliate of the SIJHL in Canada where
they went to the National Tournament the two years he was there.
After Juniors Ryan went on to Play Hockey and Baseball for four years at
Northland College in the MCHA while getting his degree in Business
Administration and Economics accompanied by a Minor in Sports Management and
Coaching.
Ryan's enthusiasm towards the game is tremendous and has a true mind set of
Blue Collar Hockey. Hard Hitting, Focus, and the want Win. " I think a big part
of this Game is not to get Comfortable the time a Good player gets comfortable
is the time he just gave up the chance to be a great player".

Kevin Gee
Scout
Kevin has an outstanding eye for talent and for identifying players with
tremendous potential. Eight former players have been recent NHL draft picks,
including Chris Summers (1st round pick - Phoenix Coyotes) and Ian Cole (1st
round pick - St. Louis Blues). Kevin also values a player's character in their
overall development. Since 2006, twenty two players have gone on to be ACHA
Academic All-Americans. Over 60 former players have moved on to play in D1/D3
NCAA or Major Junior programs. In 2008, Kevin was selected as the Michigan
Collegiate Hockey Conference Coach of the Year. In total 14 seasons have been
spent coaching High School, Midget AAA, Junior A and College levels. The past 3
seasons have been spent as the Head Coach at Lawrence Technological University.
In addition to scouting for the Quake, Kevin currently is an assistant coach
with the Detroit Belle Tire Midget Major team and he is also serves as a scout
for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL.
